Hurricane Maria Relief Funds for Temple Beth Shalom, Puerto Rico

SanJuan6 weeks after Hurricane Maria struck Puerto Rico, 80 % of the population is still without power, and many places remain without clean water.  Members of Temple Beth Shalom, the reform synagogue in San Juan, report that their building suffered damage and the overall situation for citizens of Puerto Rico is critical with widespread hunger and thirst.  Beth Shalom has started a fundraiser not only to help get their Temple functioning again but also to support other local recovery efforts.  The Temple Beth Or Social Action Committee is asking for donations for Puerto Rico recovery through the Temple Beth Shalom Hurrican Relief Fund.

Rabbinic Transition Update

RabbiTemple Beth Or celebrates Rabbi Jessica Marshall's 9 wonderful years as our spiritual leader, friend and teacher. View some photos of the celebration in the above slideshow, read the text of her Farewell Words, and check on the status of our Rabbinic Transition process.

Our Rabbinic Search Committee conducted several workshops in August and asked congregants to take an online survey during late August and early September. The survey results and feedback from our workshops will help us establish the parameters to use in evaluating applicants.
