Make for Yourself a Rav…

Make for yourself a rav (a teacher); acquire for yourself a friend; and judge every person on the positive side. (Pirkei Avot 1:6)

Make for yourself a rav: I’m looking forward to being each others teachers. I’ll share my knowledge with you and I’m open to receiving your gifts, wisdom, and insight. I hope you will share with me what makes you proud to be a member of Temple Beth Or and areas you feel could be stronger.

Acquire for yourself a friend: I am eager to begin to know everyone! I hope you will take time this summer to come to Shabbat services. I get to lead my first Family Shabbat with Bernie Busch on Friday, July 6th at 7pm.

Judge every person on the positive side: One of the hard things about being new is that your experience with me at this point is limited. I know I will mess a few things up. Please tip the balance in my favor and I promise to do the same for you. Relationships take time and work and I’m excited to build ours together.
